Maternity Cover: Marketing and Events Coordinator

This is a part-time and fixed-term contract to cover a period of maternity leave, initially expected to be 9 months, with the possibility of extension up to 12 months (The exact duration of the contract may depend on the return date of the postholder).

Hours: 3 days (21 hours/week), with the possibility to extend to 4 days (28 hours/week) for the right candidate. Access to our flexitime system. Normal hours 9am – 5pm Monday – Friday (1hr lunch).

Location: We’re a remote-first company with most people working from home. You’ll need to be UK based. We have an office in Hayle, Cornwall for optional hybrid working.

Salary: Part-time salary of £21,058 per annum (based on full-time equivalent £35,096 per annum).

Holiday: 24 days (168 hours) per annum (based on full-time equivalent 280 hours per year inclusive of public holidays should you choose to take them as holiday).

Start Date:  September 2025, negotiable.

Probationary Period: Six months.

Reporting to: Education Data Consultant.

Background and Purpose of Role

More than 4,500 primary schools use our online software to collect, analyse and present their assessment data (as well as monitoring provisions and reporting to parents). Our events provide continuing professional development (CPD) around school data and allow us to share best practice to Insight users.

Our events also form part of our Awareness and Education activity promoting Insight to prospective customers who do not currently use Insight. By consistently delivering high-value content and demonstrating our expertise in school data management, we aim to solidify our reputation as industry leaders and trusted experts, thereby attracting new customers.

We have developed an outbound marketing strategy, targeting both cold prospects and referrals by our existing customers using a third-party database which enables us to promote our events and services directly to prospective customers via email.

From event and email campaign planning to logistics, to on-the-day coordination and post-event follow-up, our Marketing & Events Coordinator meticulously manages the detail to ensure everything runs smoothly.  

Duties and Responsibilities

Primary duties include supporting the Education Data Consultant to:

  • Manage outbound email campaigns, including co-ordinating copy/image creation, managing mailing lists and general campaign administration.
  • Oversee Insight’s Social Media presence, drafting and creating posts across our regular platforms in consultation with our content teams;
  • Support the ongoing content development and implementation of Insight’s websites, working with our technical and content teams;
  • Help organise venues, manage payments, liaise with venues regarding event details;
  • Manage registers, signage and Insight presence at events;
  • Coordinate emails to attendees (pre-event information, follow up and event slides afterwards);
  • Collate feedback using Slido;
  • Manage the Insight stall and our merchandise;
  • Liaise with speakers;
  • Update event websites with event and speaker information (our own and Eventbrite); administration of ticket sales and responses to queries about events;
  • Manage emails and be the point of contact for phone calls;
  • Support team with appearances or attendance at non-Insight industry events nationally;
  • Any other associated duties.
