Who are we?
Established in 2007, we help schools make sense of assessment data through purposeful software and dedicated expertise.
Our main focus is Insight, our assessment tracking web app for primary schools. Almost 6000 schools nationally use this service to track the attainment and progress of their pupils, and we’re growing every year. Our customers love the system and send us great feedback!
We place a high value on delivering an excellent experience for our customers. To us this means working hard to create a product which is simple to use, genuinely helpful and well supported. We want customers to feel that we’re easy to reach and have their backs. We’re here to help them feel confident using Insight and to make sure they’re using it to its full potential. Our Inbound Sales and Onboarding team plays a critical role in ensuring we deliver first-class customer support from the very beginning.
What you’ll be doing
As an Inbound Sales and Onboarding Specialist, you’ll be the first point of contact for most schools. You’ll handle enquiries from schools and Multi-Academy Trusts and support them throughout a free trial, from answering emails and calls and delivering online product demonstrations to understanding each customer’s needs, setting up their account, organising and delivering online training, and offering proactive onboarding support where needed.
This isn’t a traditional sales environment. If you’re driven by personal targets and performance-based commission, this is unlikely to be the role for you. You’ll need to be comfortable demonstrating the value of Insight to different stakeholders, while taking a low-pressure, supportive and consultative approach to welcoming new customers. We work as a team and co-ordinate across departments. Our companywide bonus scheme distributes up to 25% of profits to all staff in recognition of everyone’s contribution to delivering a great service to schools.
There are clear opportunities to develop through Junior, Senior, and Advanced levels within the Sales & Onboarding team. Full training and ongoing support will be provided to help you build your knowledge, confidence, and autonomy over time.
Core Responsibilities
We’re a constantly evolving company, so day-to-day tasks may change over time, or we may ask you to do other things not listed here. You’ll work under the direction of the Inbound Sales and Onboarding Team Manager on tasks including:
Growth: Respond to inbound sales enquiries via phone and email; provide personalised online product demonstrations; work to understand the needs of schools and Multi-Academy Trusts.
Onboarding: Build relationships and support users as they progress through a free trial; customise accounts to suit each school; organise and deliver online product training; offer proactive onboarding support where necessary; monitor new customer satisfaction and engagement.
Collaboration: Work with the Content team to help manage the transfer of schools’ existing data into Insight; collaborate with the Help Desk Support team when customers need technical support; pass feedback about customer requirements to the Product team.
Record keeping: Gather key information about schools’ requirements and what they need for a good experience. Keep clear, well-written records for use by the whole team so customers are efficiently supported throughout their time with us.
Learning and development: Become an expert user of Insight and develop knowledge of common school assessment models and the problems schools face. Keep up to date with policy changes and trends, learn the company ethos and how departments work together, and work with colleagues to continually improve our processes.
Who we’re looking for
This role suits a “people person” who shares our values: delivering excellent work
that wows people and has a positive impact; paying attention to detail and collaborating to drive up standards; questioning assumptions and traditional ways of doing things; and using success for good.
Our mission is to help schools make sense of their data, but we’re also a tech company first and foremost. We’re fast-moving and always working on our product and our company. People who are flexible, collaborative, proactive and selfmotivated, with a willingness to drive their own learning, will thrive here.
You’ll enjoy talking with others and working to understand their needs, with a genuine desire to help them. You’ll be confident applying your knowledge and experience to ambiguous information, making sensible judgement calls and figuring out what schools need.
